Why We Started Transcend Headache Clinic
Headache and migraine care shouldn’t be an afterthought. Yet for many patients, that’s exactly how it felt.
Before founding Transcend Headache Clinic in April 2024, our nurse practitioners, Kyrie and Tiffany, saw firsthand how patients with migraines and chronic headaches often faced long waits for neurology appointments, rushed primary care visits, or expensive emergency room trips — only to receive temporary fixes rather than lasting solutions.
They knew there had to be a better way. Transcend was created to fill this gap: providing dedicated, accessible, and compassionate care for people living with headaches and migraines in West Fargo, Fargo, Moorhead, and beyond. Our vision is to ensure every patient feels seen, heard, and truly understood while receiving expert, evidence-based care tailored to their unique needs.

Kyrie Severson
Co-Founder, APRN, AQH
Kyrie is the co-founder of Transcend Headache Clinic and a Nurse Practitioner with advanced certification in headache medicine. With over 20 years in healthcare, she has worked across emergency care, family practice, and general neurology before focusing exclusively on headache and migraine treatment. This breadth of experience showed her firsthand the gaps in traditional healthcare, where patients were often rushed through appointments without the time or support they truly needed.
As a provider at Transcend, Kyrie is committed to slowing down the pace of care — taking time to listen, ask questions, and understand the unique experiences of each patient. She believes healthcare should go beyond quick fixes, focusing instead on personalized treatment plans rooted in evidence-based care and genuine partnership.
Raised in rural North Dakota, Kyrie values meaningful connections and brings a community-focused approach to every patient relationship. As one of the few providers in North Dakota with the Advanced Qualification in Headache Medicine© (AQH) from the National Headache Foundation, she is dedicated to helping patients take control of their headaches and migraines so they can get back to living fully.
Outside the clinic, Kyrie lives in Reiles Acres, ND, with her husband, their three kids, and their cat, Luna. Life is full and lively — from hockey rinks and baseball fields to cheer competitions and gymnastics meets. She enjoys spending time outdoors, diving into home projects (even if her husband isn’t always on board), and coaching her sons’ hockey teams during winter and spring. These everyday moments remind her why she’s so passionate about helping others get back to the things they love — pain-free and fully present.
Tiffany Eslinger
Co-Founder, APRN
Tiffany is the co-founder of Transcend Headache Clinic and a Nurse Practitioner with specialized training in headache and migraine care. With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, her background spans emergency medicine, hospital operations, and general neurology — giving her a comprehensive view of patient needs and the challenges they face in getting lasting relief.
Motivated by the gaps she saw in traditional systems—long waitlists, rushed visits, and disjointed care — Tiffany helped build Transcend to offer a more compassionate, personalized approach. She is passionate about helping patients navigate a wide range of headache conditions, from chronic migraines and tension-type headaches to TMJ-related pain and post-concussion symptoms. Her calm presence, clinical knowledge, and collaborative approach ensure every patient feels heard and cared for.
Raised in small-town North Dakota, Tiffany’s care philosophy is rooted in connection, community, and trust. She believes healthcare should be relational, not transactional — and works to make every visit a step forward on the path to healing.
Outside the clinic, Tiffany lives in lakes country on Stakke Lake in Lake Park, MN, with her husband, three children, and their lively crew of pets — including Mini Husky Cooper, cat Gizmo, and a tank full of fish. Most days, you’ll find her cheering on her kids from the sidelines, enjoying lake life, or sneaking in a run. She loves entertaining family and friends and believes there’s always room at the table for one more.
Emily Haen
Clinical nurse manager, RN
Emily Haen is the Clinical Nurse Manager at Transcend Headache Clinic, bringing over a decade of nursing experience and a deep commitment to patient and family advocacy. A North Dakota native and University of North Dakota graduate, Emily spent 13 years in labor and delivery, where she honed her clinical skills and developed her passion for standing alongside patients and families during vulnerable times.
At Transcend, Emily brings this same dedication to the world of headache and migraine care, ensuring patients feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way. She believes in the power of compassionate, personalized care to help patients navigate the complexities of chronic headaches and reclaim a better quality of life.
Outside the clinic, Emily enjoys spending time with her three daughters and their black lab, Bohdi, making the most of family time and community connections.

When you arrive at Transcend Headache Clinic, you’ll first be welcomed by Emily Haen, RN, our Clinical Nurse Manager, who will complete your intake, check your vitals, and help you feel comfortable before your appointment.
You will then meet with one of our neurology-trained Nurse Practitioners specializing in headache and migraine care: Kyrie Severson, APRN, AQH or Tiffany Eslinger, APRN.
