Yes, we take most major insurances. However, we would recommend you check with your insurance provider prior to scheduling. We will also run an audit prior to your appointment, to ensure we are able to bill your insurance provider. If we are not, you will be notified.

You certainly can see your primary care or other provider for your headache and migraine treatment. However, as headache specialists, we have special training, expertise, and additional resources that other providers may not be able to provide. 

There are several types of headaches, and often not every headache syndrome fits within a perfect box of symptoms.  Basically, if you have a head pain we can help to guide your treatment plan. 

There are MANY ways to treat headaches, migraines, other headache syndromes. It really depends on what your symptoms are, headache type and comfort level of treatment options. Developing an individualized treatment plan that YOU are comfortable with is our goal. 

While this is an option to take on as as needed basis for headaches and migraines, this is not recommended to be taken regularly. Many sufferers report taking Tylenol and/or ibuprofen multiple times per day. This can actually result in something called Medication Overuse Headaches, in which due to the frequency of taking these medications you can potentially cause worsening headaches.

There are several options beyond just taking a medication. There are supplements, injections, and complementary therapies such as massage, acupuncture, dry needling, etc. We will help guide you in finding the right therapies for you to help you gain control.

Our goal at Transcend is to make you feel welcomed and heard. You will meet with 1 of 2 of our headache providers in which they will obtain detailed information about your headache history as well as a physical assessment. From there, together with the provider, you will come up with a treatment plan that you are comfortable with, and which is backed by best practice and supporting evidence.
